Pizzo is a town on the coast, perched on a promontory on the Gulf of St. Euphemia. Its territory includes a rugged coastline, characterized by sandy beaches in some places and rocky in others. On the North East coast, the Mediterranean pine forest to the mouth of the river Angitola extend almost 9 km of wide sandy beaches. Just after the river rises the mountain of Vibo, which acts as a curtain to the territory, which has its border with Maierato and Vibo Valentia at the top, on the ridge of the hills.
